Interact Club

In September of 2014 Stoke High - Ormiston Academy formed an Interact Club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ipswich.

Throughout the year the founding members of Interact completed several projects including, the first summer fete at Stoke in a very long time to raise money for East Anglian's Childrens Hospice (EACH) at which there were stalls, a barbecue, games and a bouncy castle. Overall the Interact club raised £311.91 for the charity. They also completed joint projects with the Rotarians like the Suffolk Young Carers Day in July at Hollowtree where the members of Interact helped out on the activities ranging from the air gun ranges to a rock climbing wall. The members also helped out at a neighbourhood food collection to help feed people in need, both run and organised by the Rotarians to support Tesco and Fareshare in trying to help the foodbanks. They had smaller projects running throughout the year including bake sales and a "My Story" project at the Prince of Wales Residential Home, where they sat down and helped the residents record their lives and bridge the generation gap by connecting the past and the present with similar experiences.  The Club has had a very busy and successful first year and have lots more activities planned for the coming year.  Many thanks to all the Rotarians for giving us this opportunity, especially Bernard and Paul, for all their support.
